The Flood is typical modern psychedelic indie folk-rock. Like their more famous peers Animal Collective, the strangely named Wooden Wand & the Vanishing Voice focus primarily on raw atonal atmosphere, where instruments and voices meander and waver for the sake of mood rather than melody.
