Band Name Thin Lizzy. Album Name Johnny the Fox. Type Album. Data de lançamento Outubro 1976. Labels Mercury Records Vertigo Records. Estilo de MúsicaHard Rock. Thin Lizzy were one of the hardest working hard rock bands of the time. They were almost always touring and squeezed in a lot of time for promotional activities. Their previous album, Jailbreak was released in March 1976. The band couldn't tour after this album, because Phil became very ill with hepatitus right after that album was released. So Phil took this time to write most of the songs for the Johnny the Fox Album(released in August 1976). That was why both of these albums were released in 1976.

Thin Lizzy - Johnny The Fox 3:43. Thin Lizzy - Johnny The Fox (Full Album) 1976 35:49.

Recorded and mixed at Ramport Studios, London. Originally released 16th October 1976 on Vertigo Records 9102 012. Track listing for Disc Two on the rear digipak is incorrect.

Matter of fact each of the softer songs all have something great to offer. Johnny The Fox is something of a concept album, if only in fragmented style, a tale of desperate, righteous but hell-bent urban characters, much like mini-biographies of band leader and voice Phil Lynott himself. Lynott, like most great song writers was deeply personal in his approach, and wither his tales are bawdy, regretful or just plain cool, they always reflect some aspect of the man’s own odd place in our world. Or do most black Irishmen find it easy to fit in?

With Jail Break, Thin Lizzy had finally gotten the break they were looking for. There was a mass hit single, The Boys Are Back in Town, and things seemed to finally be locking into place. So later that year, 1976, Phil Lynott and the boys decided to head back into the recording studio and put out another album, one to keep up the momentum of Jail Break, and maybe, hopefully, if only turn their band into the next Led Zeppelin. What came out was Johnny and the Fox, a lbum that while it was no where nearly as successful as Jail Break, it still rocked fairly hard.

Johnny the Fox is the seventh studio album by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1976. Once Lynott had returned to the UK from the aborted US tour in June 1976, when they had been scheduled to support Rainbow, he spent time in hospital in Manchester recovering from hepatitis. He had an acoustic guitar with him and wrote the songs for Johnny the Fox during June and July. After his release from hospital, Lynott joined the other members of the band and travelled to Munich in August to record the album at Musicland Studios with producer John Alcock.
