Produced by David Sylvian. I fall outside of her She doesn't notice I fall outside of her She doesn't notice at all. And mine is an empty bed I think she's forgotten. And mine is an empty bed She's forgotten I know. I fall outside of her.
david sylvian is manged exclusively for opium(arts)ltd. I am not sure I like everything in this album, but there is undoubtedly some excellent David Sylvian here. Blemish' is an incredible ambient experience, the careful listener will recognize some Brian Eno influence here, and some Robert Fripp influence on 'The Only Daughter', which definitely is my favourite track on this album, for it sounds just like a 'Secrets from the Beehive' song. On my list of reproaches, I'd say the album as a whole is rather monotonous at times
David Sylvian (born David Alan Batt, 23 February 1958) is an English singer-songwriter and musician who came to prominence in the late 1970s as frontman of the band Japan. The band's androgynous look and increasingly electronic sound made them an important influence on the UK's early-1980s New Romantic scene. Following their breakup, Sylvian embarked on a solo career with his debut album Brilliant Trees (1984)
Blemish is a hard album to listen to. Sonically, it’s full of rough feedback sounds and jarringly percussive guitar picking, making it unlike anything else in popular music. But commercially, Blemish was David Sylvian’s final act of commercial unmooring.
Blemish is the sixth solo album by David Sylvian. Following Sylvian's acquittal from Virgin Records and free from a record contract, he built a home studio, Samadhi Sound Studio, and recorded Blemish in early 2003. The album was inspired by, and documents, the disintegration of Sylvian's relationship with his wife, Ingrid Chavez, marking a turning point in Sylvian's lyrics as they became more personal and open and less oblique. It is experimental in its use of electronics and sound. It features avant-garde guitarist Derek Bailey, and austrian guitarist and electronic musician Fennesz Track listing. All songs written by David Sylvian, except where noted. The Good Son" (Derek Bailey, Sylvian) – 5:25. The Only Daughter" – 5:28. The Heart Knows Better" – 7:51.
