Julian Bream Consort - Julian Bream - Elisabethan Music album download

In this presentation the evolution of Bream's repertoire as demonstrated in the recording studio between 1960 and 1991 are clearly apparent. This collection is a truly historical compendium stretching from Renaissance masterpieces to the finest contemporary works written in the 20th century

Painting – Evaristo Baschenis. Photography By – Lotte Meitner-Graf, Zoe Dominic. The Julian Bream Consort. Elizabethan Music ‎(LP, Album, RE). RCA Red Seal.

LP 1 originally released as "An Evening Of Elizabethan Music" LP 2 originally released as "The Golden Age Of English Lute Music". Although no date of release is on the box-set, the original RCA inner sleeves have a pictured catalog with the year 1978 on it. So it's probably from the late 1970's or early 1980's.

But I did own this Bream Consort album on vinyl, and I did hear Bream once, solo, in the Washington University (St. Louis) chapel. This album still sounds good today. The original vinyl that I owned has been augmented for CD by a beautiful performance of the Courtly Dances from Britten's "Gloriana," and by Bream's reduction of a Vivaldi Concerto for Lute, which comes across very well. From the original album, the heart and soul of it, I believe, are two Dowland pieces: the "Lachrimae Pavin" and the "Fantasie

Julian Bream Consort. The music derives much of the personality of the theater and drama of the period, including the power of Shakespeare. All of the consort pieces survive from the original text of Thomas Morley, published in 1599. A perfect tribute and a great way to carry on the appreciation of such a romantic art form.
