Trio Mediaeval - Soir, Dit-Elle album download

Trio Mediæval is a vocal trio established in Oslo in 1997, recording albums for the ECM label, and touring frequently in Europe and the United States. The trio was put together mainly to sing medieval polyphonic works, but has since early in their career expanded their repertoire to also include contemporary compositions, such as those of Gavin Bryars and Ivan Moody. Moody wrote the title track on their debut album "Words of the Angel" (2001), which reached the top ten of the Billboard Classical list  . 2004: Soir, dit Elle.

Trio Mediaeval ‎– Soir, Dit-Elle. 이블: ECM Records ‎– ECM 1869. Track 10 composed in 1999. All contemporary pieces are composed for the Trio Mediaeval. Lyrics for track 12 from "The Lament of Mary".

Founded in Oslo in 1997, trio mediaeval has developed three distinct strands of repertoire: polyphonic medieval music from England and France, contemporary works and Norwegian medieval ballads and songs. The group's initial phase was inspired by intense periods of work at the Hilliard Summer Festival in England and Germany, and subsequently with Linda Hirst and John Potter. Trio mediaeval has given concerts and radio broadcasts throughout Europe, in the USA and Canada.

Tracklist: 01. Kyrie (04:13) 02. Gloria. Missa 'alma Redemptoris Mater' (04:32) 03. Laude Novella (Lauda Ii) (03:11) 04. Ave Regina Gloriosa (Lauda Vii) (03:58) 05.

CD - ECM New Series, ECM. The pure voices of Anna Maria Friman, Linn Andrea Fuglseth, and Torunn Østrem Ossum combine to make Trio Mediaeval a sensation among early music fans. Yet Soir, dit-elle is largely an album of contemporary works written especially for this group by such active composers as Gavin Bryars, Ivan Moody, Andrew Smith, and Oleh Harkavyy. With the exception of the late medieval Missa Alma redemptoris mater by Leonel Power and the twelfth century chant on which it is based, the works are modern imitations in the medieval ecclesiastical style.
