His discography includes the recordings released during his lifetime Hendrix's work as an accompanist appears on several different labels. Jim Morrison is there shouting vulgar things while Jimi tries to play. There are questions as to the rest of the line-up. Buddy Miles was there and participated a little in the jam but there was also another drummer on hand. Johnny Winters is advertised to have been there as well, but although he was friends with Jimi and worked with him from time to time, Johnny was in Texas at the time this jam took place. Regardless, it's cool, a good album to have, but be warned. I've seen this exact same recording packaged and sold under 4 different names with 4 different cover photos/artwork

Jimi Hendrix: 1942-1970. Remembering the life and music of the guitarist after his untimely death. Six weeks after he left New York, four days after forming his trio, Hendrix opened at the Olympia in Paris, on the bill with French pop star Johnny Halliday. He reminisced about it for an interviewer in 1968: Paris Olympia is worse than playing the Apollo. In the liner notes to the live recording of Jimi’s performance (ironically, it was the last Hendrix recording to be released before his death), Pete Johnson of Warner Brothers writes what happened: Their appearance at the festival was magical; the way they looked, the way they performed and the way they sounded were light years away from anything anyone had seen before.

1968 Scene club, NY jam, featuring Jim Morrison and others, taken from personal tapes stolen after his death. “Although it presents a unique setting, critics and biographers have generally found fault with the sound quality and Morrison’s performance.” states wikipedia.

“Uncertainty has for a long time surrounded both the exact date for the Scene Club recordings and the personnel featured on them. Most sources lean towards 07.03.68 as the most likely date, and personnel is believed to be Jimi Hendrix (guitar / vocals), Jim Morrison (vocals) and Lester Chambers (harp) plus two unknown guitarists, unknown bass and unknown drums. Some of these may or may not have been members of The McCoys or The Young Rascals, but neither Johnny Winter nor Rick Derringer were among them.”
