Palermo, Italy's Agricantus blends traditional and contemporary instruments into an electro-acoustic sound that tributes and departs from southern Italy's musical heritage. In 1999 the album "BEST OF AGRICANTUS", was realized in the States with the label "World Class", that distribute it not only in the States but also in Canada, South America, Australia and Japan. In just a few weeks it rose to the top of American and Australian radio charts. September 1999 was the release date of "FAIDDI", a compilation of their most beautiful songs re-arranged and played live

the collection The Best of Agricantus 2000-2008. In 2000 Agricantus sign the soundtrack of the film Placido Rizzotto of Pasquale Scimeca which is published by the eponymous CD. In 2001 they published Ethnosphere third concept album dedicated to the world and the spirituality of Tibetan culture. The album, inspired by some lyrics and music composed by Tonj.
