Information Society - Orders Of Magnitude album download

Information Society is the debut studio album by American synth-pop band Information Society. It was released on June 21, 1988, by Tommy Boy Records and Reprise Records. It was the band's first release under a major label, after two independently released extended plays. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 6, 1988, denoting shipments in excess of 500,000 copies in the United States.

Tommy Boy Records signed Information Society in 1986 and their album soon followed. In 1988 Information Societys self-titled album was released and went platinum, for a very long period of time, the band would not perform Running live, requesting not to be asked to play it and generally refusing all questions pertaining to their dislike of the song. It is generally believed this is due to the song being very difficult to play live, in early 2008, Murat Konar joined Paul Robb, Jim Cassidy, and Kurt Harland onstage in San Francisco to sing Running.

The tracks include cover versions of the Human League's "Don't You Want Me" and the Sisters of Mercy's "Dominion".

Unlike the 2014 effort, the new collection of songs is entirely covers. The group has raised eyebrows with their selection of several sacred cows of popular music, including the Human League’s ’Don’t You Want Me Baby’ and the Sisters Of Mercy’s ‘Dominion’.

Yes, this is a 'covers' album. Would I have liked a new album of original band written music? Yes, most certainly; however, this is NOT a tired, phoned in effort as many mature artists release. This album is a slick, polished and well produced album by professionals who know and love what they do.
